Glasgow Museums

We have a long history of publishing – Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum opened in 1901, and people have been writing about and publishing on the city’s collections ever since. The focus of Glasgow Museums Publishing programme is naturally the one million plus objects held in these collections, but we also publish educational materials and on local history and archaeology. Recent bestsellers include 1970s’ Glasgow: Through the lens, a collection of photographs taken around the city; Wildlife Around Glasgow: 50 remarkable sites to visit; and Pioneering Painters: The Glasgow Boys 1880-1900.  We welcome proposals for co-publishing projects.
